Penny was born and raised near Allentown, Lehigh County. She continues
to live in Lehigh County with her husband of 17 years and her two
children ages 15 and 12.
After graduating high school, Penny started working in the insurance
field for Ohio Casualty Group as a file clerk. In her 10 years at
Ohio Casualty, Penny gained experience in the commercial insurance
field as she worked her way up to the position of lead rater 2 with
underwriting authority. Her position responsibilities included working
closely with insurance agencies throughout the eastern half of Pennsylvania
and Connecticut.
When Ohio Casualty decided to move her office location to Connecticut,
Penny decided to leave the company and become a part of the Sterner
Insurance Agency in February 1999. Her commercial experience proved
to be an excellent fit into the Sterner Insurance family, while
working for the agency allowed her to expand her career into customer
service and the opportunity to directly work with a wide variety
of companies and customers.
In March 2005, Penny worked to improve her knowledge in the insurance
field by earning her Certified Insurance Service Representative
(CISR) designation and continues her efforts to stay on top of the
ever-changing insurance industry. Her position has grown to the
Lead Commercial CSR providing marketing expertise for the agency.

challenging and rewarding. But the best part has to be that we are
a professional agency that hasn’t lost that personal touch
